DOHA (MEMO) – Chief of Hamas’ Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has thanked Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his continuous support for Palestine and the Palestinian people, a statement issued by the movement said.
During a visit to Doha, Haniyeh also thanked Qatar and its people for their official and popular support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. He went on to hail diplomatic efforts which contributed to the cessation of the Zionist aggression on the Palestinian people, as well as to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Haniyeh spoke about the sequence of incidents which led to the Zionist aggression on the Palestinians in Gaza, pointing out that they started with the regime’s continuous aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinians in al-Quds, mainly Sheikh Jarrah.
Meanwhile, the Qatari emir reiterated Doha’s support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, while stressing the importance of Palestinian unity as the main pathway to achieving legitimate national rights.
