Muslims Should Militarily, Financially Support Palestine
TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called on Muslim states to support Palestinians militarily and financially and help rebuild Gaza after an 11-day war by the occupying regime of Israel.
Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movement fired thousands of rockets into Occupied Palestine before Friday’s truce, many of which caught the Zionist regime’s vaunted Iron Dome missile system napping.
“Muslim governments should enter the scene with sincerity to support the Palestinian nation whether through military strengthening or financial support, which is required more than before, and the reconstruction of the Gaza infrastructures,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader urged Muslims to demand that their governments back Palestinians.
“All influential elements of (Israel’s) regime and the criminal (prime minister Benjamin) Netanyahu must be prosecuted by international and independent courts,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader extended his congratulations to the Palestinian people over the historic victory of the resistance front against the Zionist regime.
Palestine, he said, will become more powerful and the wicked and usurping regime of Israel will become even weaker against Palestinian youth and the power of valuable resistance groups.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Palestinian people have come honorably out of the test of the recent tribulation.
“The savage Israeli enemy understood very well that it is incapable of confronting Palestine’s united uprising.”
The Leader said the cruel Zionist regime committed “massive crimes” mainly in the Gaza Strip, and proved in practice that due to its inability to confront Palestine’s unified uprising, it is liable to carry out “shameful and insane” acts that have incited the world public opinion against the regime and generated hatred toward and its supporters, especially the U.S.
The Zionist regime’s defeat, the Leader said, was manifested both in its “continued crimes” and its “request for a ceasefire.” Therefore, the Leader said, “the regime was forced to admit defeat.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said it is up to “senior resistance and political Palestinian officials to determine when to begin and end conflicts, but there is no end to preparedness and strong presence on the scene.”
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the occupying regime’s displacement of dozens of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds, saying the “courageous Palestinian people should use their experience in resisting the bullying of the Israeli regime and settler hirelings in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood as a permanent guideline.”
The Leader said punishing the Zionist regime is a significant duty of Muslim states, adding all “awakened consciences acknowledge that the crime of massacring Palestinian women and children over the past 12 days must not go unpunished.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said in a statement: “The intifada (Palestinian uprising) has gone from using stones to powerful, precise missiles ... and in the future the Zionists can expect to endure deadly blows from within the occupied territories.”
Iran on Friday displayed an Iranian-made combat drone that it said had a range of 2,000 km (1,250 miles), naming it “Gaza” in honor of the Palestinians’ struggle against the Zionist regime.
