Palestinian Resistance Thanks Ayatollah Khamenei

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Palestinian resistance groups have written to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, thanking him for his firm stance on Palestine during his International Quds Day speech.
In separate letters, five resistance groups lauded the Islamic Republic and specially Ayatollah Khamenei for supporting the national resistance of the Palestinian people and refusing to recognize Israel.
The groups stressed their resolve to continue resistance until the liberation of Jerusalem Al-Quds, saying the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s remarks during his Quds Day speech maps up the roadmap for the liberation of Palestine.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Fatah al-Intifada group, Palestinian Popular Struggle Front and the Palestinian Forces Coalition commended Iran’s role as the axis of unity and resistance among Muslim nations.
They also hailed the role of Iran’s legendary commander General Qassem Soleimani in keeping the Palestinian cause alive. The charismatic anti-terror commander was assassinated along with his companions in a U.S. drone strike in Iraq in January 2020.
In his Quds Day address, Ayatollah Khamenei said the occupying regime of Israel is not a country but a terrorist base against the people of Palestine and other Muslim nations.
Ayatollah Khamenei also said Palestine continues to be the most important issue for the Islamic world.
“The policies of the oppressive and cruel capitalism have driven a people out of their homes, their homeland and their ancestral roots and installed a terrorist regime and foreign people in their place, instead.
“Fighting against this despotic regime is fighting against oppression and terrorism. And this is a collective responsibility,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
On Tuesday, Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh wrote to Ayatollah Khamenei, briefing him on the ongoing Israeli atrocities against the besieged Gaza Strip.
Haniyeh said the Zionist regime’s insistence on continuing the aggression requires the resistance to maintain its decisive and legitimate response.
“The criminal enemy today, with the deadliest internationally banned weapons, commits the most barbaric crimes against the people of Gaza around the clock, as well as the most heinous crimes against demonstrators in Al-Quds, the West Bank and the 1948 occupied territories,” he said.
In his letter, Haniyah stressed the need for the Islamic and Arab nations as well as the international community to take decisive action against the Zionist enemy and stop its crimes.
