‘The Blue Bed’ En Route to U.S. Riverside Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) --- The 2021 edition of the Riverside International Film Festival (RIFF) in the U.S. has been scheduled to screen Iranian short flick ‘The Blue Bed’.
Written, directed and produced by Alireza Kazemipour, the 10-minute film tells the story of a girl who has taken an inappropriate path in her life and hosts visitors at home.
But suddenly things start to change for her when a woman walks into her life.
‘The Blue Bed’ has been screened at a number of global events and won some awards, including the Best Directing award at the 10th Vancouver Short Film Festival in Canada and the best short film award at the 2020 Reading Film Festival in the U.S.
The short film received three nominations for Best Screenwriting Short Drama, Best Direction Short Drama, and Best Short Drama at the 2020 Leo Awards in Canada, as well as a nomination for best actress in a supporting role (Bita Beigi) at the 3rd Satisfied Eye International Film Festival in the UK.
Annually since 2002, the RIFF has brought the best in contemporary international and independent films to southern California.
The RIFF seeks "diverse and challenging films of social upheaval, human conflict, and the boldness of the human spirit,” according to the official website of the event.
The 2021 edition of the event is scheduled for April 27-May 1.
