Zionist War Minister Secretly Meets Jordan King: Report

AMMAN (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s war minister Benny Gantz has secretly met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Sunday.
The daily said the meeting took place in Jordan, but did not specify the precise date of the meeting.
Gantz told his party members earlier that he was conducting secret meetings with top Jordanian officials. He also criticized Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s relationship with Amman, accusing him of harming the regime’s relations with Jordan.
"I think Jordan is a great asset to Israel, and I think that our relationship with Jordan could be 1,000 times better. Unfortunately, Netanyahu is an unwanted figure in Jordan, and his presence harms” the two sides’ relations, Gantz said.
"I have a continuous and ongoing connection with the Jordanian king and other senior Jordanian officials, and I know we can have great achievements,” he said.
The Jordanian authorities have yet to comment on the report.
According to the daily, the regime’s foreign minister Gabi Ashkenazi also met twice with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi in the past months.
Political relations have recently soured between Jordan and the Zionist regime over the regime’s policies toward al-Quds, because King Abdullah’s Hashemite dynasty is the custodian of the Muslim holy sites in the city.
Last May, Safadi warned Britain and the United States against the "unprecedented danger” posed by the occupying regime’s scheme to annex parts of the occupied West Bank and the strategic Jordan Valley.
Back in October 2019, Jordan recalled its ambassador to Tel Aviv to protest against the regime’s months-long detention of two citizens for unknown reasons.
