Zionist Regime Forcing Palestinian Village to Demolish Only Road
WEST BANK (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s authorities have ordered a road in the village of Kaisan, east of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, to be razed, Al-Watan Voice reported.
Deputy-Mayor of Kisan village, Ahmed Ghazal, said that the occupying regime’s authorities are planning to close the road which connects more than ten homes to the village.
Ghazal said that this road was paved in 2007 to serve the villagers, who have been subject to harassment by the Zionist regime for decades.
Kaisan is inhabited by 800 people and is being surrounded by the two illegal settlements of Maale Amos and Avi Menahem.
The village does not have transportation, electricity or water networks. It also does not have a clinic.
For decades, the Zionist regime has been preventing the villagers, who own the land, from using it without special permits either for farming or construction.
Meanwhile, Zionist troops issued demolition orders to two Palestinian-owned homes in Al-Maniya village located in north-east of Bethlehem.
Head of Al-Maniya Village Council, Zeyad Kawazba, told Wafa that Zionist troops stormed the village and handed military orders to demolish two houses, because they were allegedly built without the impossible to obtain construction permits.
A restrictive planning regime applied by Zionist regime authorities makes it almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain building permits in what the Oslo Accords labeled as ‘Area C’ of the West Bank, which falls under the Zionist regime’s control, impeding the development of adequate housing, infrastructure and livelihoods.
