Iranian Actors Take to Stage Neruda’s ‘Postman’ in Germany

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian popular actors, Ashkan Khatibi and Roya Teymourian, have been invited to bring ‘Postman, Pablo Neruda’ on stage in Germany.
Mayor of the German city of Cologne has invited the Iranian team to take the play on stage on November 3 in the German city.
Directed by Alireza Koushk-Jalali, the play depicts the life of Chileans and their close relation with Pablo Neruda and his poems. Neruda’s significant influence on people is obvious. He is the teacher of love.
Mario, the postman, finds out the secrets of love with the help of the great poet. The love takes, not only Mario, but all the people to the verge of madness.
Born in 1978, Khatibi has a bachelor’s degree in Theater. The popular actor has appeared in some ifilm movies and series, including ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’, ‘Lean on the Wind’, ‘A Fistful of Eagle Feathers’, and Mehrabad’.
Born in 1960, Teymourian graduated in Theater Acting and Directing from Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran University. She holds a Ph.D. in Arts.
She began acting in television with the drama series 'Rana' (1988-1990).
While she has mostly acted in plays, her performance in the movie 'Barani' (1999) nominated her for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the International Fajr Film Festival.
She has appeared in some ifilm series and movies, including ‘Zero Degree Turn’, ‘Saint Mary’, ‘Barani’ and ‘Remembrance’.
The other actors of the play are Amir-Kaveh Ahaninjan and Donya Madani.
Born in 1974, Ahaninjan began his acting career in 2001 with the movie ‘Low Heights’ which was recently aired by ifilm.
He subsequently appeared in a number of movies, including ‘Barefoot in Heaven’ (2005) and ‘While We Sleep’ (2008).
The play ‘Postman, Pablo Neruda’ is currently on stage in Tehran.
