Italian Iranologist Prof. Gnoli to Be Commemorated

TEHRAN (IBNA) - The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia in Tehran will commemorate the celebrated Italian Iranologist Professor Gherardo Gnoli at a ceremony scheduled for Thursday, February 23.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting the public relations office of the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia, the midterm Congress of the European Iranologists Society (Societas Iranologica Europaea or SIE) will be held in the center in collaboration with SIE and International Society of the Mediterranean and Eastern Studies where Professor Gnoli will to be honored.
Gherardo Gnoli (1937-2012) was a prominent scholar of the Iranian studies and history of religion who established these studies in the academic centers of Italy.
At the midterm Congress of SIE, five European and four Iranian scholars we let the labor lecture on professor Gnoli’s studies. They are Pier-Francesco Callieri, Carlo Cereti Antonio Panaino and Adriano Rossi from Italy; Almut Hintze from Germany as well as Jaleh Amuzegar, Mahmud Jafari, Ahmad Pakatchi and Ruzbeh Zarrinkub from Iran.
The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia is located at No. 210, Ajoodanie, Kashanak, Niavaran, Tehran, Iran.
