Iranian Scholar Abolhassan Najafi Dies at 86

Iranian veteran linguist and translator died at the age of 86 in Mehr hospital in Tehran on Friday morning.
Ali Dehbashi , an Iranian literary scholar and a friend of the late scholar , told Mehr News Agency Abolhassan Najafi was hospitalized due to a heart failure which was inoperable.
Najafi was a renowned Iranian linguist, translator and a permanent member of the Iranian Academy of Language and Literature and also the editor in chief of the Comparative Literature journal. Najafi has edited one of the most accurate classification of meter in the Persian language, known as the Najafi Classification.
