GAZA/RAMALLAH (Dispatches) -- Two Palestinians died Friday from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli strikes on Gaza City, while Zionist forces mounted arrest raids across the occupied West Bank, carried out demolitions in southern Lebanon and shelled agricultural land in Syria.
In Gaza, Sara Abu Jiyab, a medical student at the Islamic University of Gaza, and Nabil Hamad, a resident of the al-Shati refugee camp, died from injuries suffered in earlier Israeli attacks, Al-Shifa Hospital said.
Witnesses said Israeli forces opened heavy fire Friday toward the al-Mawasi area northwest of Rafah, with some bullets reaching tents sheltering displaced Palestinians. Gaza’s Health Ministry says Israeli violations since the October 2025 ceasefire have killed 1,602 Palestinians and wounded 5,799.
In the West Bank, Israeli forces raided Askar refugee camp east of Nablus before dawn Friday, storming and searching homes.
In the Hebron (Al-Khalil) area, troops raided Jabal al-Rahma, converted a home into a military post and fired tear gas at the livestock market, while arresting Khalil Mahmoud al-Hamamdeh near Yatta after settlers grazed livestock on Palestinian farmland.
Israeli forces also abducted two young men, Ayeh Wael Odeh and Sari Omar Odeh, in Azzun east of Qalqilya, and closed the main road to Artas and all entrances to Bethlehem except the western access to Beit Jala.
In Lebanon, Israeli forces carried out terrorist detonations in the southern towns of Qantara and Khiam on Friday, alongside artillery shelling and heavy machine-gun fire, and advanced toward Zawtar al-Gharbieh, according to Lebanese media reports. Overnight into Friday, Israeli artillery shelled Qantara and Wadi Slouqi, while shells also hit the outskirts of Braasheet.
In Syria, Israeli artillery shelled agricultural land around al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiyah in the Quneitra countryside on Friday.
On Thursday, two artillery shells hit the outskirts of Beit Jinn in the western Damascus countryside, and three Israeli military vehicles entered from the Abu al-Ghaithar gate toward Wadi al-Raqad in western Dara’a, raiding and vandalizing a home.
Nine Israeli vehicles also advanced into al-Hurriyah village in northern Quneitra countryside on Thursday.
Earlier Thursday in Gaza, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including a drone strike on a displacement tent in al-Zawaida and a 12-year-old boy shot east of al-Bureij camp, according to Xinhua.
