TEHRAN - Hussein Vafaei has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 International Snooker Championship after defeating China’s Si Jiahui.
Vafaei faced China’s Si Jiahui on Tuesday in the round of 16 at the 2026 International Snooker Championship and secured a 6–3 victory, earning his spot in the quarterfinals.
In the next round, Vafaei will face the winner of the match between China’s Fan Zhengyi and Wales’ Liam Davies.
Earlier in the tournament, the Iranian snooker player defeated England’s Stuart Carrington 6–0 in the second round. He subsequently secured a 6–2 victory over Mark Selby—a prominent English snooker star and the world number four—to qualify for the main draw and the final 16 of the competition.
The 2026 International Snooker Championship is currently being held in Nanjing, China.
