GAZA/DAMASCUS (Reuters) --
Israeli forces carried out deadly strikes in Gaza, tear-gassed a Palestinian school in the occupied West Bank, bombarded southern Lebanon, and conducted dozens of military incursions into southern Syria on Monday.
Medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that hospitals received 15 bodies and 38 wounded people over the preceding 48 hours, bringing the cumulative death toll since October 2023 to 74,609, with 175,872 wounded, according to figures released Monday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Since the October 2025 sham ceasefire took effect, at least 1,593 Palestinians have been killed and 5,748 injured, the ministry said, adding that 847 bodies have been recovered while many more remain trapped under rubble beyond the reach of rescue crews.
Qatari state news reported that four Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Monday morning alone, including a man and his daughter struck by an Israeli drone in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces raided the village of al-Mughayyir northeast of Ramallah on Monday morning and fired tear gas canisters toward a school, causing dozens of students and teachers to suffer respiratory distress, according to the village council head and Palestinian media.
Israeli forces also stormed al-Arroub University College north of Hebron (Al-Khalil), briefly abducting a young man, and raided dwellings and caves in Khirbet al-Halawa in Masafer Yatta, causing property damage.
Separate raids across Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem and Al-Khalil resulted in at least six kidnappings, including journalist Samer Khuwaira, a former administrative detainee rearrested in Nablus, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office.
Israeli settlers also blocked roads in the northern Salfit governorate and near Al-Zaytoonah University, burning tires and setting up stone barriers.
Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike on the town of Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon, while Israeli artillery fired more than 10 shells at the area surrounding the Ibl al-Saqi spring at dawn, Lebanese National News Agency reported.
Artillery also targeted the towns of Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, and Israeli forces opened machine-gun fire toward the Wadi al-Hujair and Wadi al-Salouqi valleys.
Israeli drones were observed over the southern suburbs of Beirut, and an explosion was reported in the town of Bani Hayyan in the Marjeyoun district.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry says at least 4,389 people have been killed since March 2, with over 12,000 wounded.
The Sijil Center, a monitor tracking Israeli activities in Syria, reported Monday that Israeli forces carried out 140 military incursions into southern Syria between October 22 and 31, spanning Quneitra, Daraa and Damascus provinces.
The incursions resulted in the killing of a disabled man and the abduction of 13 civilians, the group said, alongside three bombardments, 19 mobile checkpoints, 11 raids and 43 aerial surveillance missions.
Syrian media also reported mysterious explosions in Dara’a and Suweida and an unidentified object falling in the Homs countryside amid intensive Israeli aerial activity.
Israel has conducted repeated incursions into southern Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024.
