Economy Minister Announces Trial Roll-Out of Govt. Asset Monetization Fund

TEHRAN - Iran’s Minister of Economy and Finance has announced the official test launch of the “Government Asset Monetization Fund,” a financial mechanism designed to unlock dormant state capital and generate domestic liquidity.
Speaking at a meeting of the Supreme Board for Government Asset Monetization, Ali Madanizadeh confirmed that the initiative will kick off with a pilot phase utilizing the Ministry of Economy’s own assets. This end-to-end operational test is expected to be completed within the next one to two weeks.
Under this newly approved legal framework, the fund will issue investment units that are allocated to various executive bodies and government agencies.
These agencies can then either sell the units on the market to secure much-needed financial resources, or transfer them directly to contractors in exchange for completed infrastructure and development projects.
Madanizadeh explained that starting with the Economy Ministry’s own portfolio serves as a practical stress-test for the entire execution process.
Once finalized, a comprehensive operational blueprint will be presented to the cabinet, effectively training other ministers and state institutions on how to leverage this model to fund national projects without relying on traditional, sanction-vulnerable banking channels.
This innovative domestic financing tool underscores Tehran’s broader economic doctrine of relying on internal capacities and optimizing state resources as part of the Resistance Economy to neutralize the impact of Washington’s unilateral coercive measures.
By transforming idle state properties into active, circulating capital, Iran is further insulating its national budget from external financial blockades and ensuring the uninterrupted progress of its development goals.
