Iran Plans to Build 6,000 MW of New Renewable Power Plants
TEHRAN – Iran’s deputy minister of energy says the ministry plans to construct 6,000 megawatts (MW) of new renewable power plants across the country.
Mohsen Tarztalab, who also heads the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), said that in addition to building renewable power plants, establishing a domestic supply chain for the required equipment is high on the agenda to reduce reliance on foreign countries.
He noted that Iran’s market currently holds strong appeal for investment in the solar power sector, adding that private sectors with the technical and financial qualifications to set up solar panel production lines will benefit from SATBA’s facilities and support.
