Pezeshkian: ‘We Eat Soil, But We Do Not Give Soil’
TEHRAN -- President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tuesday that Iran would endure hardship rather than surrender its territory, invoking a historic national hero in a message posted on X.
Pezeshkian wrote that Sattar Khan, a constitutional revolutionary leader, “fought for a cause he deemed worthy of Iran: freedom, law and the pride of the nation.”
“Iran is proud of such children; men who gave meaning to their values not only with words but with their steadfastness,” Pezeshkian wrote. The president closed the message with the phrase: “We eat soil, but we do not give soil.”
