Iran’s Crude Oil Production Surges Past 3.7 Million bpd
TEHRAN - Iran’s daily crude oil production capacity has surged to 3.715 million barrels per day (bpd), marking an 8.3 percent increase in a single month and dealing a fresh blow to U.S.-led efforts to strangle the country’s energy sector.
To sustain this momentum, the Iranian oil industry has unlocked massive capital, including 13 billion euros in new development contracts for major oil fields and a $3 billion plan aimed at boosting daily output by an additional 250,000 barrels.
The expansion drive is heavily backed by domestic financing and has seen a major push to involve the private sector in processing infrastructure, alongside the continuous deployment of over 120 active drilling rigs nationwide.
Acting Oil Minister Hamid Bord has reiterated that the country’s energy sector will continue its upward trajectory.
He emphasized that the ministry is focused on reviving low-yield wells, rebuilding infrastructure damaged by enemy sabotage, and maximizing commercial oil sales to turn national capacities into a reliable revenue stream for the economy.
The remarkable growth comes in direct defiance of the Trump administration’s aggressive campaign to bring Iran’s oil exports down to absolute zero.
Despite decades of unilateral sanctions, financial blockades, and security tensions orchestrated by Washington, Tehran has successfully leveraged domestic expertise to not only sustain but significantly expand its hydrocarbon output.
