TEHRAN - Iran’s national para-table tennis player has secured his second consecutive victory at the 2026 Asian Para Games.
Hassan Janfeshan—Iran’s sole representative in para-table tennis at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Nagoya—played his second group-stage match this evening.
Janfeshan, who has a history of winning medals at the Asian Para Games, faced Cheng Lao Chu from Macau in Group B (Class 2) and emerged victorious with a 3–1 win.
At 60 years old, the Iranian representative—the oldest athlete in Iran’s delegation—lost the first game 10–12 but went on to win the subsequent games 11–1, 11–3, and 11–2.
Having already defeated a Japanese opponent earlier this morning, Janfeshan has now secured two wins, placing him at the top of Group B.
By advancing to the quarterfinals, he received a bye (an automatic advancement), propelling him directly into the semifinals. Consequently, a bronze medal for Janfeshan is now guaranteed.
