U.S. Sanctions 16 Individuals, 10 Entities Linked to Iran
TEHRAN – The U.S. Treasury Department announced new Iran-related sanctions targeting 16 individuals and 10 entities on Thursday, as Washington continues to expand its sanctions policy against Tehran.
According to a statement published on the Treasury Department’s website, the measures were imposed by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. The announcement did not provide further details about the identities of those targeted or the specific reasons for the sanctions.
The latest move comes amid the continued expansion of U.S. sanctions against Iran in recent months, covering financial activities, oil and petrochemical industries, transportation, and the procurement of military equipment.
On September 29, 2026, the U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against 10 individuals and entities in several countries over their alleged involvement in supplying weapons and components required by Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
Iran and several other countries have repeatedly criticized unilateral U.S. sanctions as illegal, while various governments have emphasized the importance of maintaining trade relations with Iran.
