Iran Exports Over 5mn Tonnes of Petroleum Products Through Shahid Rajaee Port

TEHRAN – Iran has exported 5.14 million tons of petroleum products through Shahid Rajaee Port since the beginning of the current Iranian year.
Hamidreza Muhammad Husseini Takhti, director general of Hormozgan Province’s Ports and Maritime Department in southern Iran, said petroleum product exports had continued without a complete halt during this period, despite the imposed war, intensifying economic restrictions and sanctions imposed by the U.S. government against Iran.
Muhammad Husseini Takhti added that the products had been exported aboard 325 vessels.
He said export activity showed that, despite challenges facing foreign trade, financial restrictions and difficulties caused by sanctions, petroleum product exports had continued and related activities had remained ongoing.
With its unique geographical location close to the Strait of Hormuz and the entrance to the Persian Gulf, Shahid Rajaee Port Complex is a major gateway for Iran’s imports and exports. Its proximity to the main intercontinental shipping routes and its position at the intersection of the North–South Transit Corridor have further strengthened its strategic importance.
