Israeli Extremists Surge in Polls Amid New Gaza Deaths, Settler Violence in West Bank

GAZA STRIP (Dispatches) -- Israel’s Jewish supremacist political parties are surging among young first-time voters ahead of this month’s Knesset elections, a new poll showed, as Israeli forces killed more Palestinians in Gaza and settlers launched at least a dozen attacks across the occupied West Bank on Saturday.
The Ynet poll published October 9, sampling 543 Israeli voters aged 18 to 22, found terrorist insecurity minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) party winning 8.88 percent support—translating to 15 Knesset seats—while terrorist finance minister Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism received 8.09 percent, or 14 seats.
Combined, the two terrorist far-right parties would secure 29 seats if only first-time voters cast ballots, nearly double their 14-seat showing in the 2022 election. Both outperformed terrorist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud, which received just 7.95 percent among young voters.
The poll reflects a radicalization among a generation that has come of age during Israel’s nearly three-year genocidal war on Gaza, with many of the estimated 500,000 new radicalized voters having served as conscripts in the Israeli military.
In Gaza, at least five Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Saturday, according to medical sources.
Four were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians near the Haidar roundabout in the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City, while a fifth Palestinian died from wounds sustained in a previous strike on the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.
A separate incident late Friday killed one Palestinian and wounded another in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Saturday that the cumulative death toll since October 7, 2023, had risen to 74,370, with 175,371 injured. Since the sham ceasefire declaration on October 11, 2025, Israeli fire has killed 1,481 Palestinians and wounded 5,254, the ministry added, noting that many victims remain trapped under rubble inaccessible to ambulance and civil defense crews.
In the occupied West Bank, terrorist Israeli forces and violent settlers escalated attacks across multiple governorates on Saturday.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented at least 12 settler attacks since morning in Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Qalqilya, Hebron (Al-Khalil), and Jericho, including assaults on olive harvesters, expulsions from farmland, property theft, and road closures.
Nine Palestinians were injured in Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah, when settlers and Israeli soldiers attacked farmers attempting to harvest olives, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
One person sustained a live-fire wound, two were hit by rubber bullets, and six were beaten. Anadolu Agency photojournalist Issam Rimawi, covering the harvest, was struck in the right calf by a rubber bullet fired by Israeli forces despite wearing press identification.
Israeli military forces killed 32-year-old Shadi Ahmad Ibrahim Ajarma near the Nabi Yunis junction north of Al-Khalil on Friday evening and were withholding his body, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
On Saturday, Israeli forces raided homes in Tammun, south of Tubas, surrounding a house and ordering a young man to surrender, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society.
Israeli forces also conducted widespread incursions across Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Al-Khalil, Bethlehem, and the Qalandia refugee camp in occupied Al-Quds, firing live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas.
