Tehran Stocks Rise; Main Index Passes 7.7mn Points

TEHRAN - The Tehran Stock Exchange on Saturday opened the trading week with gains, as the main index rose 21,810 points to close at 7,788,000 — extending the market’s upward trend.
Trading activity also increased, with the number of transactions reaching 1,404,000. Retail trade value exceeded 57 trillion tomans, indicating continued high levels of market activity and liquidity.
The most influential symbols on the main index were Femeli, Shepna, Fars, Foolad, Shabandar, Taban and Tapico.
The Iran Fara Bourse (IFEX) also traded higher, with its main index rising 194 points to 62,053. The market recorded 782,921 transactions, with Fazar, Maroon, Aria, Saman, Vampna, NeyShakar and Fajahan among the symbols influencing the index.
The gains on the first trading day of the week came after the market ended last week at elevated levels. The main index stood at around 7.76 million on the last trading day of the previous week, and continued its movement in that range on Saturday with a gain of more than 21,000 points.
Overall, simultaneous increases in the indices, the number of trades and retail trade value indicate the market saw substantial trading volume on the first day of the week. However, with the index sitting at record highs, the behavior of cash flows and the level of demand may become more significant in the coming days.
