President Pezeshkian: Iranian Women Able to Stand Atop of World’s Highest Peaks
TEHRAN – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the achievements of female athletes at 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, emphasizing that with proper planning, and trust, Iranian women have proven they can stand at world’s highest peaks.
In a post on his X platform late, Pezeshkian stressed that the 54 coveted and colorful medals secured by Iranian athletes in Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games is solid evidence to the capabilities and resolve of the nation’s youth.
“The three gold medals secured by our girls across two Olympic disciplines—rowing and taekwondo—demonstrated that wherever there is opportunity, planning, and trust, Iranian women possess the capability to stand on the peaks of the world,” the president wrote.
Iranian Women Increase Asian Games Gold Medal Tally by 60%
Iranian women athletes increased the country’s Asian Games gold medal tally by 60 percent at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Zahra Behrouz-Azar says.
“Over the past 19 editions, Iranian women’s sports have won a total of five Asian gold medals, and this year, the proud Iranian girls in Nagoya 2026, by winning three gold medals, increased this achievement by 60 percent,” Behrouz-Azar wrote on social media.
She described the achievement as a historic record and a manifestation of Iranian women’s ability and determination, adding, “We are proud of their achievements and abilities.”
