TEHRAN– Iran’s national men’s football team was defeated by Russia 2-0 in a friendly match on Tuesday.
In the match held at the Kazan Arena, Alexandr Golovin netted twice in 21st and 36th minutes., Tehran Times reported.
Iran had lost to Uzbekistan 3-1 on Thursday in their first friendly match. 
The Iranian team is set to face Guinea-Bissau in its third friendly match.
Guinea-Bissau has been selected as the national team’s third friendly opponent for this international window, allowing the squad to play one more match before concluding their preparation program.
This match offers another opportunity for the coaching staff to assess the players’ form and test the team’s lineup ahead of upcoming competitions.
