RAMALLAH (Dispatches) -- More than 100 Israeli settlers rampaged through the village of Jalud, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank overnight Tuesday, setting two Palestinian homes ablaze under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The fires did heavy damage to both homes and spread panic through the village, local sources said.
The homes belong to the Tubasi family, whom repeated settler harassment and attacks had driven out of Jalud in July. Settlers then occupied the property and barred the family from entering.
After nearly two months of displacement, the family returned under an Israeli court order, only to find the house wrecked, homeowner Mahmoud al-Tubasi told Anadolu Agency. 
Hours later, the settlers came back and set it on fire, destroying it and leaving it uninhabitable.
Villagers tried to confront the attackers themselves before large numbers of Israeli troops arrived. 
Rather than halting the assault, the arriving troops protected the settlers, called in reinforcements, and forced the Tubasi family out of their home again at gunpoint, local sources said. 
Settlers attacked two more villages that same morning as well. In Qaryut, also south of Nablus, attackers broke down the door of an elderly Palestinian woman’s home and beat her, leaving her with bruises to her hand and head, according to local sources and video filmed by volunteer medic Bashar al-Qaryuti.
In Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, settlers attacked three homes, burned another belonging to a Palestinian detainee, and torched six vehicles, destroying three, witnesses told Anadolu. 
Israeli troops raided the village at the same time and detained a young man.
Settlers also attacked two villages west and northwest of Ramallah overnight. In Ras Karkar, settlers torched a Palestinian tractor and sprayed hostile slogans, and set several Palestinian vehicles on fire in Deir Abu Mash’al.
Among the daily campaign of terror inflicted on Palestinians by Jewish settlers, carried out with the terrorist Israeli regime’s backing as part of apartheid policy, two separate attacks targeted villages west and northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank overnight.
The attack comes two days after Israel’s psychopathic finance minister and settler leader Bezalel Smotrich openly called for a genocidal war on the occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported. 
“I think we need to go to war in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank], to do there what we did in Gaza, to dismantle the Palestinian Authority,” he said, also calling for Israel to annex the parts of Gaza and southern Lebanon occupied by its troops. 
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) recorded more than 1,330 settler attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank between January and late July, an average of six a day and the most relentless rate of assaults in about 20 years. 
Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza in October 2023, its terrorist forces and wild settlers have killed 1,206 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Al-Quds, according to Palestinian figures.
