TEHRAN — Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, has affirmed that despite economic hardships stemming from sanctions and war, the Iranian people will never relinquish their homeland.
Addressing a conference marking Sacred Defense Week on Monday, Sadegh said this year is different from all previous years and the country has endured a 40-day war, which is still ongoing.
The Israeli enemy, contrary to all international conventions, announced it would target railway tracks, she said, adding that in less than five hours, 6,000 passengers stranded on trains were transported to their destinations by bus with the cooperation of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.
The enemy attacked the control tower of Chabahar Port, a symbol of the country’s development, three times and destroyed it, adding that the control tower will soon be rebuilt.
Though the people endure severe economic hardship, worsened by war, sanctions, and an economic siege, they remain willing to sacrifice their lives for every inch of their homeland, proclaiming that Iran and Iranians will always stand strong, Sadegh stressed.
