BEIRUT (Dispatches) -- Israeli warplanes and artillery units conducted a series of strikes across southern Lebanon on Monday, in a continued violation of a disgraceful ceasefire agreement signed by the pro-Western government.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out raids on the area between the towns of Mifdoun and Zoutar Al-Sharqiya. 
Israeli tanks targeted the outskirts of Zibqin and the valleys adjacent to Yater in the morning hours, while artillery shelling hit Wadi al-Salouqi during the night. Mock raids were also conducted over the Tyre area.
Further strikes were reported around Kfar Tebnit, Mansouri, Haddatha, Haris, Khiam, Mays al-Jabal, and Qantara, with two additional airstrikes on Wadi Zebqin. 
An Israeli Apache helicopter struck a commercial center on the Shokin-Mayfadoun road in the Nabatieh region, while heavy machine-gun sweeps targeted the towns of Beit Yahoun, Serbine, and Wadi Zibqeen.
An ambulance crew survived an airstrike that targeted a building while personnel were conducting a field inspection following a previous raid, resulting in damage to shops and residential apartments. 
Israeli forces also carried out demolition operations in southern areas, including the outskirts of Barashit and Haddatha. An Israeli Merkava tank targeted the town of Hadatha with four shells before Israeli forces advanced toward a center in the town and set fire to the location. The army also demolished a number of houses in al-Mansouri.
Al Jazeera reported a dense plume of smoke rising from southern Lebanon following an Israeli air attack between the towns of Tibnin and Haris in the Bint Jbeil district.
The attacks represent a continued violation of the ceasefire agreement, as Israeli forces have remained deployed inside southern Lebanon and continued to carry out frequent strikes despite the truce reached in June. 
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said Sunday that the group would continue its resistance, adding that Hezbollah remained confident in the eventual liberation of Lebanese territory.
Since March 2, Israeli escalation has resulted in thousands of casualties and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Lebanese citizens, according to Lebanese officials. 
The strikes on Monday came as Prime Minister Nawaf Salam was scheduled to meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington to discuss the negotiations track.
