TEHRAN – Iran’s National Olympic Committee paid 9 billion tomans ($38,500) in rewards for the country’s gold-medal performance in e-Football at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Hassan Pajani and Abolfazl Aghaeinasab combined to secure the title for Iran, with the duo overcoming Malaysia 4-2 on aggregate in the final.
The Iranian pair had earlier advanced past Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals and Japan in the semifinals before completing their title-winning campaign against Malaysia.
Pajani and Aghaeinasab will each receive 3 billion tomans, while the remaining half of the allocated reward will go to the coaching staff.
The E-sports Association will distribute the coaching staff’s share among its members at its discretion.
The achievement marked another milestone for Iran’s e-sports athletes at the continental level, as the country continued its medal-winning campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
