TEHRAN – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said it will continue the punishment of the U.S. until Tehran’s seven conditions are met, asserting that Iranian missiles are capable of destroying America’s multilayered air-defense systems.
IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hussein Mohebbi said Washington had expected Iran to surrender after deploying military forces to the Persian Gulf, but instead encountered a different form of Iranian resistance. 
He described Iran as “the victor of the war” and said the Islamic Republic is converting that victory into “permanent strategic deterrence”.
“Despite having the world’s largest navy, the United States was unable to keep the Strait of Hormuz open even for a few hours,” Mohebbi said, stressing that control of the strategic waterway remains in the hands of the IRGC’s naval forces. 
Before the war, dozens to more than 100 vessels passed through the strait daily, he said, but now only oil tankers belonging to Iran’s trading partners are permitted passage, and only with Tehran’s permission.
The general also dismissed U.S. claims of military superiority, saying Washington had used propaganda to project capability while its advanced air, naval and ground equipment came under retaliatory attacks by Iran’s Armed Forces during the recent war. 
“We will not stop punishing the U.S. until Iran’s seven conditions are met,” he said, expressing confidence in Iranian missiles’ capability to destroy multilayered American air-defense systems.
The remarks from the IRGC come amid a parallel diplomatic track. Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said this week that Iran will not resume negotiations with the United States or reopen the Strait of Hormuz until Washington accepts the seven conditions previously put forward by Tehran, describing the current demands as “fundamentally different” from past conditions. 
Rezaei has cited key conditions including the cessation of warfare on all fronts, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, and an end to the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian vessels and ports.
