TEHRAN - Iranian sprinter Zahra Zarei claimed the silver medal in the women’s 400 meters at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Saturday.
Tehran (ISNA) - Competing in a nine-runner field in the final, Zarei crossed the finish line with a time of 52.38 seconds to secure the runner-up spot on the podium.
The Iranian athlete had advanced to the final round after topping her preliminary heat with a time of 52.00 seconds.
Zarei’s silver marks the third medal for Iran’s track and field delegation at the ongoing Asian Games, following Mohammadreza Tayebi’s gold medal in the men’s shot put and Sadegh Samimi’s bronze in the men’s discus throw.
