TEHRAN - On the sixth day of the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Iranian athletes competed against their rivals in various fields.
Amir Esmaeili, Iran’s boxer in the 90+ kg weight class, fought Tae Ung Ju of South Korea in the round of 16 and advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating his opponent.
Danial Shahbakhsh, the representative of the 60 kg weight class of the national boxing team, faced Romatam Sakada of Thailand in his second match of these competitions but was ultimately defeated by an identical score of 4-1 in all three rounds, missing out on a medal.
