TEHRAN - The Director General of Ilam Province Customs announced that the Mehran border remains active, stating that over $453 million worth of various goods were exported through this international crossing during the first half of the current year.
Sohrab Kamari stated that this volume of goods—weighing 1,046,579 tonnes—was exported from the Mehran border customs to Iraq and other countries in the region.
He added that the primary goods exported via the Mehran border included agricultural products, tiles and ceramics, plastic and disposable containers, glass, rebar, live fish, clinker, iron ore, PVC pipes, and building stone.
The Director General of Ilam Province Customs noted that during this period (the first half of the year), the total volume of goods in transit through the Mehran border stood at 43,804 tons, with 2,148 trucks transporting transit goods to Iraq.
Kamari mentioned that last year, $1.318 billion worth of various goods were exported through this international border crossing.
