RAMALLAH (Dispatches) -- Palestinian resistance operations are intensifying across the occupied West Bank as Israeli occupation forces and armed settlers escalate a dual campaign of military raids, settler pogroms, and drone-enabled surveillance and harassment that has turned Palestinian communities into open-air prisons.
In the latest operation, a car-ramming attack near Ramallah critically injured Israeli reservist Neria Leiter, the son of Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter. 
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the resistance fighter as Mahmoud Muhammad Mahmoud Suleiman, who was martyred by Israeli forces, his body withheld.
The Ramallah operation was one of four resistance actions in 72 hours, including another car-ramming near the Ganim settlement east of Jenin, a drive-by shooting near Anabta close to Tulkarem, and a shooting on September 20 that killed an Israeli soldier near the Halamish settlement.
The resistance surge comes amid escalating settler attacks across the occupied territory. Early Thursday, Israeli settlers attacked the village of Attara, north of Ramallah, burning two Palestinian vehicles and spray-painting racist and hostile slogans on properties. 
Attara has faced repeated settler attacks in recent months, alongside the establishment of a settlement outpost near Palestinian homes.
Israeli forces also uprooted more than 400 olive trees and bulldozed about 3.1 hectares of Palestinian-owned land in Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, on Thursday, following a military order issued two days earlier. 
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said Israeli authorities had issued 51 orders to remove trees and vegetation across the occupied West Bank from the beginning of 2026 through September 22, targeting about 209 hectares of land, as the olive harvest season approaches.
According to official Palestinian figures, since the regime launched its genocidal assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, and injured about 13,350 others in the Occupied West Bank.
A parallel escalation involves settlers using drones to terrorize Palestinians, particularly herders and rural families. 
Rabie Abu Naim, a displaced resident of Al-Khalayel, east of Ramallah, told The New Arab that drones now monitor residents inside their homes around the clock. 
“When herders left their homes in the morning, the drones would pursue and shadow them; if they approached certain areas, settlers would gather to attack and drive them away. Eventually, the drones began monitoring residents inside their homes around the clock, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop them.”
Settlers later rigged drones with speakers blaring abuse and orders to leave, and used them to drop tear gas on targeted communities, the report said. 
Abu Naim pointed to the killing of a boy and a young man in Al-Mughayyir days ago, saying drones “played a major role” in a raid that began with a drone tracking a flock of sheep, after which settlers moved in to steal the animals while shielded by the Israeli army, which “killed the two victims in cold blood.”
In Mikhmas, shepherd Muhammad Abu Siyam told TNA that settlers sent a drone after his 19-year-old son, Nasrallah, and other young men searching for livestock stolen from the village in February. 
With the drone watching their every move, armed illegal settlers lay in wait, then opened fire, killing Nasrallah and wounding others.
