DAMASCUS (Dispatches) -- 
Israeli occupation forces assaulted a Syrian shepherd and ran over several of his sheep during an incursion into the southern Quneitra countryside on Thursday, SANA’s correspondent reported. 
The incident occurred between the village of al-Asha and the town of al-Rafid, where the forces beat the shepherd before driving over several sheep, killing them, and withdrawing from the area.
The incident came two days after Israeli occupation forces detained a civilian while he was grazing sheep west of al-Rafid. He was released the following day. 
On Friday, an Israeli occupation force launched an incursion into Wadi al-Raqad area in the Yarmouk Basin in western Dara’a countryside and opened fire toward a shepherd and his children, with no injuries reported. 
Local sources told SANA that the force, consisting of three vehicles, remained in the area for about half an hour and fired toward the shepherd and his children, forcing them to leave the location.
Under Abu Muhammad al-Jolani—a former deputy of Daesh and Al-Qaeda—Israeli troops have regularly invaded Syrian territory and harassed local residents, with his administration taking no action in response. 
Western powers, meanwhile, have embraced Jolani for his deference to Israel—propping him up despite his inaction—effectively suppressing any resistance inside Syria to the Israeli occupation and allowing Israel to pursue its colonial designs in Syria and the wider region.
In August 2026, the Trump administration formally removed Syria from its State Sponsor of Terrorism blacklist and delisted Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. 
Quneitra province, which borders the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, has witnessed repeated Israeli incursions involving searches of homes and vehicles and the establishment of temporary military checkpoints. 
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids on civilians’ homes, arrests, land leveling and other attacks.
Israel occupied the Golan Heights in the closing stages of its 1967 Six-Day War on Arab countries, which also saw the regime occupy the Palestinian territories of the West Bank, East al-Quds, and the Gaza Strip. 
Tel Aviv unilaterally annexed the Golan Heights in 1981 in a move not recognized by the international community. 
Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024, Israel has expanded its military occupation deeper into Syrian territory, including Jabal al-Sheikh, which Zionists call Mount Hermon.
