Riyadh, Aramco Facility in Yanbu With Ballistic Missiles, Drones
SANA’A -- Yemeni forces carried out two qualitative military operations using large numbers of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, targeting sensitive sites in the Saudi capital Riyadh and an Aramco facility in Yanbu, Yemen’s Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced late Saturday.
Saree said in a statement carried by Al-Masirah television that the first operation targeted sensitive sites in Riyadh and the second targeted the Aramco facility in Yanbu.
He confirmed that both operations “were successfully accomplished by the grace of God, resulting in widespread fires at the targeted locations.”
He described the operations as a response to the “great slander with which Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom, is accused of targeting Mecca, and to aid Mecca against the insult of the Qarun of the age, the horn of the Satan of Najd, the Saudi.”
Saree said the operations came in response to Saudi Arabia’s continued aggression against Yemen using F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets launched from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, which he said have carried out 732 airstrikes to date, causing civilian casualties and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.
He added that the operations were also a response to “the criminal Saudi enemy’s attempts to target Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, using ISIS tactics through bombardments that indiscriminately and without exception target civilians.”
Saree emphasized that “the false propaganda published by Saudi media claiming that we target civilians is baseless,” adding that “any such claim is only the result of failed interceptions by the Saudi enemy’s air defenses.”
He noted that Yemen’s Armed Forces “will continue to apply the equation of siege for siege and escalation for escalation, and will continue to target the Saudi enemy’s military gatherings until the aggression stops and the siege on Yemen ends.”
