TEHARN – The reciprocating compressors for the gas pressure-boosting station at the Bink oilfield in Ganaveh County, southern Iran, have been designed, manufactured, transported and installed by domestic companies in line with international oil industry standards, a senior official has said.
Ali Khanipour, deputy CEO of PetroIran Development Company, told media that manufacturing the large-scale compressors was a technically challenging process due to the complexity of their design, production and quality control.
He said the equipment had been manufactured in accordance with international standards, including API 618 and Iranian Petroleum Standards (IPS), adding that the compressors had also successfully undergone testing and preparation.
The units have been transported to and installed on foundations at the Bink gas pressure-boosting station, located about 20 kilometers from Ganaveh, marking a major milestone in the project, Khanipour said.
He said the project demonstrated the capabilities of Iranian engineers and manufacturers in producing strategic oil and gas equipment amid international restrictions and difficulties in procuring foreign machinery.
According to Khanipour, relying on domestic manufacturers will reduce dependence on foreign equipment while helping develop technical expertise and local production capacity.
He added that commissioning the station would enable the collection of associated gas from oil production and reduce gas flaring, contributing to more efficient use of Iran’s hydrocarbon resources, environmental protection and sustainable production.
