TEL AVIV (Dispatches) -- Israeli NGO B’Tselem said in a new report that Tel Aviv is carrying out a “project of elimination” in the West Bank, while systematically working to “dismantle” the “collective life” of Palestinians in the occupied territory.
The report cites over 2,000 testimonies collected from Palestinians over the past three years – since October 2023.
It says what is happening in the occupied West Bank is not a series of “isolated incidents” but rather “a comprehensive mechanism of elimination that works to dismantle the conditions for continued Palestinian existence in the West Bank, while deepening Jewish control and supremacy in an irreversible manner.” 
“The project of elimination is now being implemented more openly, directly, and violently than before, and increasingly relies on cooperation between official state authorities and settler militias,” it added.
The report also notes how expansionist Israeli policies and the emboldening of illegal settlers and their violent attacks on Palestinians have surged dramatically since terrorist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition came to power. 
Occupation troops have always encouraged or turned a blind eye to settler attacks. This has intensified in the years that followed the start of the genocide in Gaza.
“Since the formation of the current regime at the end of 2022, and especially since October 2023, the use of those mechanisms has accelerated and intensified,” B’Tselem wrote.
In Gaza, the genocide and “elimination project” has taken the “most extreme form,” it said.
It went on to say that Tel Aviv continues to “push the boundaries” in the West Bank by employing the Gaza playbook there, including brutal bombardment, mass destruction, and mass forced displacement. 
Israel also uses human shields in the occupied West Bank, as it has in Gaza. This has been extensively documented. 
Since the start of 2025, tens of thousands of Palestinians have been forcibly uprooted from West Bank refugee camps by the Israeli military.
Well over 1,000 have been killed since 7 October 2023. 
Settler violence against Palestinians and their properties, as well as illegal land grabs and arson campaigns, continue to surge dramatically.
The violence rose by 63 percent during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year, Israel’s Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported last month. 
Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert, himself a perpetrator of war crimes, has referred to the settler violence as “Jewish terrorism.”
Israeli forces repeatedly stand by and watch as settlers attack Palestinian communities, as is the case in Qusra near Nablus, which has been besieged by settlers and soldiers for one month.
