SCO Anti-Terrorism Council Condemns U.S.-Israeli Aggression Against Iran

ISLAMABAD -- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s anti-terrorism council on Monday condemned new military attacks against Iran and expressed condolences over the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The 46th meeting of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) Council, held here under Pakistan’s chairmanship, brought together delegations from Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with representatives of the SCO RATS Executive Committee.
The SCO RATS Council condemned the new military attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran and reaffirmed the SCO’s previously expressed position on this issue,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office said in a statement issued after the meeting.
“It reaffirmed its position on preserving Iran’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity and supported efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, establishing peace and ensuring stability in the region,” the statement said.
The chairmanship of the SCO RATS Council was transferred from Pakistan to Russia. It was agreed that the next meeting would be held at the SCO RATS Executive Committee premises in Tashkent .
The SCO, which includes China, Russia, India, and Iran among its members, has previously condemned military strikes on Iranian
territory through its Bishkek Declaration, stating they “violate the principles and norms of international law and the UN Charter and create serious risks to international peace, security and stability”.
The Islamabad statement represents a significant diplomatic rebuke from a bloc representing nearly half the world’s population, signaling that Iran retains meaningful support within the region’s most important multilateral security framework.
