Hezbollah Slams Beirut’s ‘Capitulation’ as Israel Escalates Lebanon’s Destruction
BEIRUT (Dispatches) -- Israeli occupation forces continued their unrelenting assault on southern Lebanon on Monday, conducting artillery shelling and machine-gun sweeps across civilian areas while Lebanese resistance forces and their allies condemned the Lebanese government’s shameful capitulation in the face of daily atrocities.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli enemy forces subjected the outskirts of the Al-Deir neighborhood in Nabatieh al-Fawqa to intermittent artillery shelling throughout the morning, coinciding with a machine-gun sweep directed at the town of Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district.
Earlier, Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Hadatha overnight, while warplanes conducted strikes on Mansouri.
These attacks are the latest in a systematic campaign of aggression that has killed more than 4,300 Lebanese since March, including hundreds of children and women, and displaced approximately 1.5 million citizens.
The Israeli occupation’s violations constitute a flagrant breach of the June 26 framework agreement, which was supposed to halt hostilities and pave the way for an Israeli withdrawal.
Instead, occupation forces remain entrenched in a so-called “security zone” in the south, conducting near-daily demolitions of homes and villages while Israel’s terrorist war minister Israel Katz threatens to “eliminate” anyone approaching the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge.
The U.S.-brokered agreement has proven hollow, with Washington providing “full collaboration, cover and planning” for Israel’s continued aggression.
Hezbollah has rightly denounced the Lebanese government’s approach as “shameful” and “tantamount to capitulation”.
The resistance movement accused authorities of failing to protect the country while Israel pursues “killings, bombardments, systematic destruction and demolition of homes and villages” with American backing.
The government’s silence and submission have only entrenched the occupation, failing to deter a single Israeli strike or protect a single Lebanese civilian.
Hezbollah has called on the Lebanese people to unite behind a national position that safeguards sovereignty and dignity.
The resistance remains the only force capable of confronting this aggression. Despite attempts to demonize it, Hezbollah has consistently defended Lebanese territory and its people while the state apparatus stands paralyzed.
As Israeli occupation forces continue their criminal violations, the Lebanese people increasingly recognize that true sovereignty requires resistance—not capitulation to foreign dictates and American-designed frameworks that serve only the occupier’s interests.
