Gas Field Development Gains Speed
TEHRAN – The development of Iran’s Farzad, Belal and Kish gas fields has accelerated, with projects progressing at twice the pace recorded during the comparable period over the past two years, the CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company said.
Touraj Dehqani said development of the new gas fields is being pursued as part of a broader plan to increase gas production.
Belal, a shared gas field, had remained undeveloped until recent months, when its jacket was installed and drilling began, Dehqani said. Drilling is now continuing with a rig deployed at the field, he added.
Dehqani also pointed to steady progress at the Farzad gas field, noting that a contract for construction of its jacket has been signed.
He said development plans for other undeveloped fields, including Kish and North Pars, have also been finalized, with contracts signed and contractors selected.
