Malaysian Envoy Welcomes Iran Air’s Return to East Asia
TEHRAN — The Malaysian ambassador to Iran has welcomed the resumption of Iran Air’s flights to Malaysia.
Referring to Iran Air’s history as the flag carrier of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with the CEO of Iran Air, Taher Abdollahi on Saturday, Dato’ Wan Yusri emphasized the importance of developing relations between the two countries.
He also expressed his readiness to support and facilitate the necessary coordination in this regard.
Meanwhile, stressing the importance of developing Iran Air flight network and its approach to re-expanding international destinations, Abdollahi said re-establishing the Tehran–Kuala Lumpur route can, in the first step, while facilitating the travel of passengers and tourists, pave the way for the development of economic and cultural interactions and greater cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides discussed opportunities available for resuming Iran Air flights to Malaysia after a long hiatus.
They also reviewed the development of bilateral cooperation, strengthening connections between the two countries, and the role of air transport in expanding economic, commercial, tourism, and cultural interactions.
