TEHRAN - Iran’s national beach volleyball teams climbed 77 and 56 places in the world rankings after finishing fifth and ninth in Asia, respectively.
The Asian Men’s Beach Volleyball Championship ended on Sunday, with Australia I (Nikolaidis/Isaac Carrach) winning. Iran’s national beach volleyball team I (Abbas Pourasgari and Alireza Aghajani) achieved joint ninth place in the competition and earned 460 points in the world rankings, climbing 56 places in the world rankings with 1,396 points to rank 136.
Iran’s national beach volleyball team II (Abolhassan Khakizadeh and Amirali Qaleh Novi) also achieved joint fifth place in the competition and earned 600 points in the world rankings. Khakizadeh and Qaleh Novi also climbed 77 places to rank 130 in the world with a total of 1,428 points.
