IRGC Seizes Arms Shipment, Dismantles 8-Member Anti-Revolution Network
TEHRAN -- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday that it has discovered a shipment of anti-security equipment in the northwestern border region of Oshnavieh in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province, while also dismantling an eight-member network affiliated with counter-revolutionary groups in Fars Province.
According to a statement released by the IRGC’s Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Base, intelligence operatives intercepted the shipment in Oshnavieh, in the northwestern province of West Azerbaijan.
The shipment included six Kalashnikov rifles, 28 magazines, six chest magazines, 456 foreign-made rounds, 77 armor-piercing rounds, and 246 standard rounds.
The IRGC stated that separatist terrorist groups, in coordination with and under the guidance of global arrogance intelligence services and the Zionist regime, had intended to transfer the shipment to deeper areas of the country to carry out acts of sabotage.
Separately, the IRGC intelligence organization in Fars Province identified and arrested an eight-member network of individuals affiliated with counter-revolutionary groups. The individuals, operating under the direction of a monarchist terrorist current, were attempting to acquire weapons and plan for unrest, according to the statement.
The statement noted that these individuals had actively participated in the January 2026 riots, carrying out attacks on buildings with Molotov cocktails, burning tires, blocking roads, and destroying public property. Security forces also discovered quantities of firearms and ammunition at the group’s hideout.
“The Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Base of the IRGC Ground Force warns all sell-out elements and their leaders that, through continuous intelligence monitoring of terrorist groups, it will firmly confront any security action and is prepared to deliver a regretful response,” the statement said.
