Ali Hayati Wins Three Gold Medals in Central Asian Badminton Tournament
TEHRAN – Iranian
badminton player Ali Hayati shined in the 5th Central Asian Regional Championship in Tajikistan, winning three gold medals in the team, individual and doubles categories.
The 5th Central Asian Regional Badminton Championship was hosted by the city of Khujand, Tajikistan, in the under-16, under-19 and under-23 age categories, and the Iranian national team won the team championship title in all three age categories.
In the under-23 singles category, Ali Hayati won the gold medal of the competition by defeating Maqsood Tajibulayev from Kazakhstan.
Hayati also stood on the first podium in the under-23 doubles category with Amirhossein Hassani by defeating the Kazakh pair 2-0.
Hayati won a total of three gold medals, including one gold in the team category, one gold in the individual category, and one gold in the doubles category.
The Iranian national badminton team also won 11 gold medals and four silver medals in the individual and doubles categories at the end of the competition.
Hayati has previously had a brilliant record in the grassroots ranks; including winning the silver medal in the first Olympiad of the country’s top talents in 2018, and winning the gold medal in the individual category in the second Olympiad in 2019.
