RIYADH (Dispatches) – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate phone calls with his Iranian and Pakistani counterparts on Sunday to discuss escalating regional tensions, as fierce fighting between Saudi-backed mercenaries and Yemeni forces killed more than 60 people near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait. Prince Faisal bin Farhan reviewed “regional developments and efforts being made to maintain security and stability in the region” in his call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. In a separate conversation with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and efforts to contain the ongoing crisis through dialogue and negotiation.
