Junior Handball Team Finishes Fourth in Asian Championship
TEHRAN - The Iranian
junior handball team ended its work by winning the world qualifier and the fourth title of the Asian Championship on Monday.
The Iranian junior handball team faced South Korea in the ranking match of the 11th Asian Junior Championship in Amman, Jordan.
The Iranian players fell short against the South Korea in a narrow loss 29-28 and settled for fourth place in the event.
Ira performed well in the first half and managed with a 15-14 victory in a close game.
In the second half, however, the competition became more physical and engaging, and both teams were trying to win the third title of the tournament until the last moments. While the score remained tied until the final seconds, South Korea took advantage of the last opportunity of the game to score the winning goal and win with a score of 29-28 to win the third title of this tournament.
Muhammad Reza Rajabi’s players, who had managed to overcome the barriers of contenders such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in this competition, finally ended their work by winning the fourth Asian title and earning a quota of the 2027 World Championship berth.
