Iran’s Digital Culture Finds New Audiences Across Asia

TEHRAN -- Iran’s video-game industry is broadening its international reach, with the Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation developing new opportunities across Russia, China, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia.
Muhammad Haji-Mirzaei, CEO of the Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation, recently outlined the organization’s efforts to connect Iranian game developers with new international markets and establish stronger channels for cultural and commercial exchange.
Russia is among the foundation’s current priorities. Iranian game developers are expected to participate in a cultural program in Russia in the coming weeks, offering studios an opportunity to present their work, meet potential partners and explore new audiences.
The foundation is also pursuing connections with China and Bangladesh, alongside a broader interest in Asian markets. The aim is to create new opportunities for Iranian studios to distribute their games, develop partnerships and engage with growing communities of players across the region.
These initiatives build on earlier efforts to introduce Iranian games to international audiences, including connections with the Baghdad market. The foundation is now seeking to develop a wider network linking Iranian developers with cultural institutions, publishers and potential commercial partners across Asia.
The strategy reflects the increasingly regional nature of the global games industry, where large and diverse markets can provide

 significant opportunities for independent studios.
Russia, China and Southeast Asia represent important territories for Iranian developers seeking to expand their audiences and establish international collaborations.
For the Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation, the goal is to transform these individual connections into a broader ecosystem of exchange—one in which Iranian games can travel across borders, reach new audiences and become part of a wider Asian landscape of digital culture.
With new initiatives taking shape in Russia and developing relationships across China, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia, Iran’s game industry is looking beyond its traditional horizons and toward a more expansive international presence.
