BAGHDAD – The head of Iraq’s Popular
Mobilization Forces on Sunday pledged to remain steadfast on the path of the martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasizing commitment to his ideals of jihad and sacrifice.
Faleh al-Fayyad, speaking at a ceremony marking the 40th day after the burial of Imam Khamenei, said the massive funeral procession in Iraq demonstrated that the country stands as a “supporter and birthplace of great men in history.”
He said tribes were “the main pioneers in honoring the martyr’s status” and that the people’s presence was a “decisive response to the evil currents that sought to distort Iraqi identity.”
Al-Fayyad said the Popular Mobilization Forces would remain “at the forefront of jihad, sacrifice and defense of the Islamic nation’s beliefs.”
