Ghalibaf: Neighbors Approaching Iran for New Regional Order
TEHRAN (Dispatches) -– Iran’s parliament speaker said Saturday that Tehran has received messages from neighboring countries on shaping a new regional order, including proposals for security arrangements and economic cooperation, as regional states grow disillusioned with U.S. policies.
Muhammad Bagher Ghlibaf said on his X account that neighboring states have sent “numerous messages” to Iran about developing new security frameworks and expanding economic cooperation across the region.
“The United States put the security of every single one of its allies at such risk through bullying and pure disregard for their interests for the sake of Israel,” Ghalibaf wrote.
He said some regional countries have briefly seen their entire existence threatened as a result of Washington’s actions. “A homegrown, independent order is what will actually deliver peace and security,” he added.
An Arab diplomat, quoted by Press TV, said that widespread discontent with President Donald Trump’s “reckless” decisions and his “condescending” attitude toward U.S. allies in the region has widened the trust gap between Washington and influential regional states.
The diplomat said regional countries have realized that Washington has not only failed in its military confrontation with Iran but also lacks the capability and confidence to reach a diplomatic understanding with Tehran.
