Tenders Issued for 1,234 Settler Units, Cutting West Bank in Two
RAMALLAH (Dispatches) -- Israel issued tenders to build 1,234 settler units in the E1 settlement bloc, which is designed to cut the occupied West Bank in two, sever it from occupied Al-Quds, and prevent the establishment of a geographically contiguous Palestinian state.
Since conquering the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza in 1967, Israel has built about 160 settlements housing 700,000 Jewish settlers. Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory are illegal under international law.
