Armed Forces Vow Complete Defeat of U.S. and Israel
TEHRAN -- The General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces on Sunday pledged not to back down until securing the country’s legitimate rights and delivering a complete defeat to the United States and the Israeli regime in the region.
In a statement, marking the anniversary of the return of Iranian prisoners of war from the 1980s imposed war with Iraq, the General Staff assured the Iranian people of its firm determination.
“Appreciating the iron will, as well as the firm and steadfast determination of the resilient and patient people of Iran, the General Staff of the Armed Forces assures them that it will not back down from the legitimate demands of the nation and the beloved Leader... until completely defeating the American-Zionist adversaries in the region, upholding the rights of the heroic Iranian nation, and forcing the enemy to surrender,” the statement said.
The General Staff added that war veterans’ legacy of steadfastness has been passed to young Iranians, who have stood against “the world’s most heavily equipped military—the criminal United States—and brought its bankrupt leaders to their knees.”
Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran has secured “true victory” on both military and political fronts. He emphasized that the U.S. and Israel entered the war with nine clearly defined objectives but “failed to achieve any of their goals at any level.”
“This was the greatest absolute defeat for the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel), and a great victory for us,” Ghalibaf reiterated.
He noted that the June memorandum of understanding was a “document of pride and victory” consolidating Tehran’s diplomatic achievements, made possible by national unity since the war began.
